Based on a novel by Alexander Dumas, Black Magic stars Orson Welles as the 18th century master hypnotist and charismatic charlatan Cagliostro.

John Huston's 1956 Moby Dick remains admirably faithful to its source. Though slightly intimidated by the sermon delivered by Father Mapple (Orson Welles in a brilliant one-take cameo), who warns that those who challenge the sea are in danger of losing their souls, Ishmael nonetheless signs on to the Pequod, a whaling ship captained by the brooding, one-legged Ahab (Gregory Peck). In an obsessive pursuit of Moby Dick, the great white whale to whom he lost his leg, Ahab's dementia spreads throughout the crew members, who maniacally join their captain in his final, fatal attack upon the elusive, enigmatic Moby Dick.

Orson Welles had quite a career in radio, from his days as The Shadow and his Mercury Theatre On The Air, to the radio version of his Third Man character from the movie, and beyond. This podcast will replay his radio performances from his various series and guest appearances.

The Sarcastic Voyage podcast is an expansion of the online “column” (we didn’t have the word “blog” back in those days) that’s been meandering comedically around the internet since 1996. It features audio-based humor from Ron “AAlgar” Watt and is centered around panel discussions which regularly feature AAl’s longtime collaborator, Matt Rowbotham, and a rotating third guest. Almost unbearably nerdy things will be discussed, and lots of Orson Welles references will be made.

The Shadow had an identity as Lamont Cranston, a wealthy man about town. He was accompanied by Margo Lane, originally played by Agnes Moorehead. Margo Lane was the only person who knew that Lamont Cranston and the Shadow were one and the same. No other agents assisted the Shadow, as did in the Walter Gibson fictional accounts. The Shadow had hypnotic power to make himself invisible to those around him and he possessed mental telepathy to read minds. Orson Welles played the Shadow from 1937 through March 1938. The Shadow became the highest rated radio show on the air at that time.

Taking its name from a popular series of mystery novels, Inner Sanctum Mysteries debuted over NBC's Blue Network in January 1941. Last broadcast October 5, 1952.
Inner Sanctum Mysteries featured one of the most memorable and atmospheric openings in radio history: an organist hit a dissonant chord, a doorknob turned and the famous "creaking door" slowly began to open.
Every week, Inner Sanctum Mysteries told stories of ghosts, murderers and lunatics. Produced in New York, the cast usually consisted of veteran radio actors, with occasional guest appearances by such Hollywood stars Boris Karloff, Frank Sinatra, Orson Welles and Peter Lorre.
