I’ve been a pilot for a major U.S. Carrier since 1989. Before that I flew A-10s for the Air Force. I was stationed at RAF Bentwaters in the UK, and then at McClellan AFB in California. I left the Air Force and then we won the cold war. I think it was just a coincidence

Finke Gorge National Park is yet another gem to be discovered in the West Macs. The park covers an area of 460 square kilometres but its highlights are Palm Valley and the Amphitheatre. Palm Valley is a remnant of the rain forests that once covered our ancient continent and now acts as the last niche for a diverse range of plant species. One of these is the Red Cabbage Palm, which is only found within the park and has a population of only around 3,000 individual plants. So please be careful where you step!
The strange formations of the Amphitheatre are also worth viewing and are a favourite subject for visiting artists. But a short walk along some of the well-marked trails around Palm Valley will be rewarding for anyone.

Ormiston Gorge offers visitors all the spectacular geology and landforms of the MacDonnell Ranges. The rugged scenery of the the Gorge is complemented by a near-permanent water hole.
The water and the shelter of the rocks attract an interesting variety of native fauna and flora, including a number of relict plant species. The recent rediscoveries of the Long-tailed Dunnart and the Central Rock Rat in the Ormiston Gorge vicinity demonstrate what an important role the Park plays as a fauna refuge. Ormiston Gorge is also home to a major ranger station.
There are wonderful opportunities to swim here plus there are full tourist facilities including an information centre.

The weaving industry in Kyoto originated between the 5th and 6th centuries. The name Nishijin derived from the Nishijin District in Kyoto, where many weavers established their workshops after the end of the Onin War (1467-1477). Nishijin textile features a broad variety of fabrics, such as gold brocade, damask, figured satin, silk gauze and velvet, along with elaborate and florid woven patterns using colorful threads.
